Mrs Torrie and Mrs Rogers share the teaching of year 2.
Keep an eye on the class page for any letters that we send out. You can also follow the school social media accounts on Facebook and Twitter to keep up to date with the latest news and events.
Your child now has their own personalised login details for 'Purple Mash', 'Spelling Shed', 'Doodle Maths', 'Times Table Rockstars' and Google classroom. Children should read once a day at home.
If you have any questions, please write a note in your child's communication diary. You can also contact us via the school office or on the Year 2 email address: email@example.com We will endeavour to support you and your child the best we can.
In English we will be enjoying the fantastic story of 'Rosie Revere Engineer'. The children will be writing using it as a basis for writing their own invention stories. We will then move on to writing explanation texts.
We are going to be focusing on poetry reading over the next few weeks. We will be focusing on learning and performing the poems.
Please make sure you're reading with your child each night and sign their communication diary when you've heard them read. Two RWI books will go home with your child each Monday and will need to be returned to school on a Friday to be cleaned over the weekend. Children on Accelerated Reader will change their own books after they complete the quiz in school. Children should be aiming to do at least a book a week on Accelerated Reader (dependent on book length).
We will be finding out the results of the Kate Greenaway Medal this half term.
